Nicole & Brian's Engagement Photo

Nicole is the daughter of Vernon L. and Brenda Jarboe and the granddaughter of Laurine and Vernon A. Jarboe; Doris Ottman and the late Bill G. Ottman, all of Topeka. She is a graduate of Topeka West High School; l'Annonciation -- Seilh, France; Washburn University with a BS in Biology and Kansas State University with a BA in French. She is employed by Parrish Management Corporation as both a Commercial Leasing Agent and a KWORCC Administrative Assistant.  In her "spare" time she becomes "Huraiva Alimah" (Dancing Kitten), an instructor for the Maya Zahira School of Belly Dance through Topeka Parks and Recreation.

Brian is the son of Don R. and Betty Paxson of Topeka.  He is the grandson of Margaret and C.L. Paxson of Topeka and Una and Walter Barnes of Warrensburg, Mo., all deceased. He is a graduate of Topeka West High School and attends Highland Community College. He is employed by Southwest Caging and formerly owned and operated Alternate Realities, a comic book store in Fairlawn Plaza.

Nicole and Brian do not plan to have any human offspring, but they do have six feline children. Pollo, a registered Chartreux, is the oldest.  He has been with Nicole since 1998. Ares, a grey and white tiger, was rescued from the Shawnee County Humane Society in 1999. Attie, the only girl, a beautiful dilute tortoiseshell with white feet, came home from the Riley County Humane Society in the fall of 2004.  A couple weeks later Donnie, a fluffy, longhaired blue furbaby, won Nicole and Brian's hearts and joined the family thanks to the Cat Association of Topeka .  Memmie, an all-black bundle of love and purrs, and Jax, sporting a black and white tuxedo, were both adopted through the help of Riley County Humane Society in 2007 after Nicole and Brian experienced the loss of their beloved "Killer" (short for Achilles on the Mound), a 10-year-old registered Maine Coon from Jayhawk Cats in Lawrence.

If there was the slightest possibility Jax would behave himself, Nicole and Brian would ask him to be the ring bearer since he is already dressed for the occasion.  But unfortunately, he is still very much a playful kitten and way too rambunctious for such a formal affair, so he will just have to stay home and wait for Mom and  Dad.

To peek in on our little ones please take a stroll through our Catwalk

Nicole and Brian are planning an evening wedding with the ceremony to take place in the gardens at Nicole's parent's home on the 25th of May, 2008.
